metaltype.co.uk has 60 old issues of the Monotype Recorder for download in PDF format. This magazine was an old trade magazine for printers, and verges heavily into design territory, as most printers were designers per say back in the days it was produced from 1920 onwards. Many issues here were edited by the famous typographer, Beatrice Warde.
